SKWAD’s successful application saw building works for Student Transport Safety Shelters completed in term 4 2024, ready for students to return to school in 2025.

The threat of rain saw the BBQ, in term 4, move to the Schools’ covered main quadrangle. Current students and their families joined with staff and SKWAD to welcome students enrolled for 2025 and their families.
A grant from the Sutherland Shire Council managed ClubGrants program saw Diggers Miranda RSL Club fund additional learning support for 20 days of student travel training.
Community partners assisted SKWAD with funding to extend the life of student desktop computers. The Rotary Club of Sutherland was the primary donor.
The annual Christmas Tree decorating competition at Cronulla RSL saw SKWAD celebrate diversity and inclusion with bespoke decorations.
SKWAD welcomed students commencing Inclusive Education in 2024 at the new Community Hub at Endeavour Sports High School on the 23rd of November. Recent funding from the Stronger Communities Programme provided new accessible outdoor settings and an all-weather umbrella, improving site amenity.
With basketball hoops in general recreational areas in much demand, SKWAD decided it was time to install a hoop with easier access.
Students participated in work experience and work skills activities with the funding provided by Council.
Burraneer Bay Rugby Club partnered with SKWAD to host a free BBQ for students, their families and staff on 18-3-23. The opportunity to socialize was welcome after a 2yr absence.
SKWAD took out the Members Vote award at Cronulla RSL’s 7th annual Trees of Hope Christmas tree decorating competition. Sutherland Shire Mayor, Carmelo Pesce, presented the award.
Cronulla RSL’s 6th annual Trees of Hope Christmas tree decorating competition saw SKWAD continue to reference the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Garlands of red facemasks, vaccines and QR codes featured.
Cronulla RSL invited SKWAD to participate in its’ 5th annual Trees of Hope Christmas tree decorating competition. SKWAD’s winning entry referenced the existing Covid-19 pandemic with garlands of takeaway coffee cups and toilet rolls. The tree’s star topper was masked.
Sutherland Shire Council managed ClubGrants saw Diggers Miranda RSL fund a dedicated Gross Motor Fitness Program for all students. The Covid-19 pandemic delayed access to various service providers for cross training activities. Program completion occurred in 2022.
